Millions of seniors benefit from home care each year, allowing them to age in place. Elderly individuals can remain in their homes rather than going to a supported housing center or a nursing home. An elderly person is most at ease when in their own home.

A person's level of need is a key consideration in determining whether or not they should get care in their own home. Is it necessary, for example, to receive medical or nursing care? If this is the case, home care may not be the best option. For those who don't require medical care, a personal contractor or non-medical home health care service caregiver might be sufficient.

On that note, let's look at the different types of Home Care Services offered by Assistance Plus.

1. Home Care Services Team

One of our staff members is a personal support specialist (PSS). Personnel assistance is provided by one of the members of our staff (PSS). This specialist is a compassionate, well-trained individual who assists a client with daily activities and instrumental daily functioning.

Our home health nurses (RN) are the second component of our home care unit. Our RNs visit the patient's home to offer care under the direction of the patient's primary care physician. A tailored care plan is developed by each nurse in collaboration with the main physician and the patient. The primary goal of our home care nurses is to enable the patient to remain as self-sufficient as possible when home.

2. Personal Care

Our personal care team is made up of certified nursing assistants and personal support specialists who are well-trained and highly skilled individuals. The main goal of our in-home assistance services is to help a person stay as independent as possible. People who use PSS services get the help they need to stay safe in their own homes.

When someone asks us for help, we can start working on an in-home care roadmap in as little as 24 hours. There is insurance that will cover a family caregiver, short and long-term respite care, and any other needs you may have, so you don't have to worry.

3. Skilled Nursing Services

The Maine State Board of Nursing has confirmed that all nursing professionals are licensed and in good standing in the State of Maine. Every member of our nursing staff has their criminal records and references checked. Our registered nurses, working under the guidance of a physician, conduct a wide range of tasks to help our clients remain as independent as possible while receiving care at home.
