Child and Family Behavioral Services
Child and family behavioral health treatment is for children who need frequent mental health services that are more intensive than what they would receive in outpatient mental health services. The focus of this program is intense behavior modification. There are two categories of eligibility:
- The child must live with a parent or caregiver who will be actively involved in planning and participating in the treatment.
- "Community-based treatment for children without permanency" is a service for children who need mental health services, have no parent or caregiver willing to participate in the treatment, and do not live with a parent or caregiver.
The purpose of this service is to develop the child’s capability in the areas of daily living, community inclusion, and interpersonal functioning. This program provides habilitative service to children ages 0-21 focusing primarily on behavioral management, increased skill development, and decreased maladaptive behaviors.
Currently providing services in Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and Waldo counties.
